Belén Díaz: “My big contribution has been to bring love and care to the work I do”<br />

Belén Díaz has been the manager of the integrated quality and environmental management system at Cupa Pizarras since 2018. She has just recently been appointed Cupa Group’s ESG Director, a newly created role in which she will continue to execute the strategy to achieve the group’s sustainability goals.

What does International Women’s Day mean to you?

For me, it is the representation of women’s struggle for financial independence and the right to work over time. And, since I have become a mother for work-life balance as well.

How has the situation of women evolved in your industry and during your professional career?

I think that I am very lucky to be part of a generation for which the way had already been paved for women in the workforce. In my opinion things were more difficult for our grandmothers and our mothers.

Have you had any difficulties in your professional life because you are a woman?

The truth is that, throughout my professional life, before joining Cupa, I did have to face some awkward questions that would never have been put to a man.

Since becoming a mother, the greatest difficulty we women face is the work-life balance and fortunately, I have had lots of support from Cupa Group.

What do you think your biggest contribution to Cupa Group has been?

That’s a very, very difficult question, but I think that my biggest contribution has been to bring love and care to the work I do and ensure that I keep improving to do my bit for the company.

Why would you recommend being part of the Cupa Group team to other women?

I think the company gives women opportunities to advance their career and my experience is a case in point.
